This Morning's Message from Pastor Dale

Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord!
Let it be to me according to your word....Luke 1:38

Hi girl's (oops - I stand corrected.  Thanks to Tim's announcement this morning). Hi ladies and guys.  Really, guys, we would love to read some comments from you too!
Let's take today and reflect on this morning's message.  I encourage you to post a comment.  I love the way the Lord is using the comments.  Please keep posting - and thank you to those of you who are obeying God's "nudging".  Your comments have been a blessing.

Love in Jesus,
cathy

  1. "Be it unto me according to your word." How could Mary say that? The statement right before this tells us how. Mary had settled something. She had settled who she was - the maidservant of the Lord. Thus, the second statement, "Be it unto me according to your word", is a statement common for servants.
So, when I am presented with a calling from the Lord, I will respond as Mary did - as long as I remember my chosen place in Him.
    Lord, make me a servant...

  2. "For with God nothing will be impossible" verse 37. God can do any thing He chooses, in any way He chooses- like causing a virgin to give birth or redeeming the life of a wounded soul - with ANY one - as long as THEY choose to let it be to them according to His Word. Mary believed God could do what He said - she "LET it be" -GOD accomplished it. When I do the "letting" God does the doing.
    Amen!!!

  3. I loved the message this morning. I loved the non-questioning of Mary and total submission. The challenging part for me is that one thing Pastor Dale said, "Don't look to your own resources." That's the hard part for me. Because my first response is Ok, how do we get it done, how do we do that. My resources are first, all from God, and secondly, no where near God's resources. Sometimes we don't step out because the need or the whole is overwhelming. Oh that I would do my part and leave the rest to God. Because with God nothing is impossible.

  4. Wow!!! The message this morning was for me in a big way. I love how the angel told Mary she need not fear and that she had favor with God. He sweetly reassured Mary before telling her what would take place. What would be required of her.

Believing this truth she was able to submit with unquestioning obediance. She knew WHO she served and trusted all the details to her Lord.

My prayer, my hearts desire..."Let it be to me according to your word." I can obey and walk wherever He says, wherever He leads. "For with God nothing will be impossible." Luke 1:37

Thank you Dale...this message was such an encouragement to me.

  5. This message was so good to hear! I loved the reminder that God knew Mary - He knew her heart. As He also knows mine. This is so comforting! He knows how to hold me, how to gently nudge me, and how to strengthen me.

There is joy in the statement "let it be to me according to Your word." Do I want joy? YES. Then Lord, have your way in me. Find in me a yielded heart, ears listening for your voice, and feet ready to move when you call.

  6. Pastor Dale is right, we hear stories from the Bible so often we just think 'oh yea I know that and beleive that', God has blessed Pastor Dale with the gift of teaching. It is so aewsome the way he brings out things many of us may never have thought that deeply on. God Bless him for his love for God.
