When my soul says, "you are my Lord", it is so different than when I say, "you are my Lord." Speaking words out of the flesh is like speaking words into the wind. So often I tell myself to be quiet, to wait, and to listen, only to find myself in my own words again. This "soul talk" is so important. David knew that. That's why he called out to his soul all the time.
ReplyDeleteHe says,"My goodness is nothing apart from You.” Daily I am realizing that the best of my best is nothing unless it from God.
Before the, "therefore" in this Paslm, David's delight is in the excellence of the earthly saints. Not unlike Paul when he writes in 1 Thessalonians 3:7-8 therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress we were comforted concerning you by your faith. For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord.
I have to leave my family in Virginia Beach day after tomorrow. As sad as that is, I have great Joy in my heart because of their love for the Lord. Paul and Cyndi (our Cyndi from the blog) hit the nail on the head. Our souls are reached by the salvation of others. Sharon
